Katydid was born ,,,,

When I was in the third grade, there were a large number of Kathy's in my class. I was born in 1960 and some variation of Kathy was a very popular name. My mother called me Kathleen till the day she died. But a stressed out nun could not manage anything more than Kathy and had no time to figure out which Kathy I was.
As an independent, creative minded individual, that sort of bothered me. So my Aunt Rosemary one day thought of Katydid. My dad latched right onto it(though there was a wierd Qwackerqueen offshoot for awhile...). ANYWAY, while some of my family shortened it (most of my brothers still call me just K and my two Atlanta Girlfriends will always call me K2), some variety of Katydid (Katie, Kate) has followed me through my life. So when I contemplated a name for my new experience, Katydid fell into place. It will likely make some people think about insects and others think about candy (my father worked for Beich Candy Company for 10 years and brought home many tins of Katydid candies...). In the end it sounded enough like my inside internal life and less like the Kathi Kraft I am at work...which was just what I was looking for. Donna and Soumit blessed it over a good glass of Pinot Noir....

I'm not sure yet what Katydid will bring...but I like it. It feels fresh and freeing and optimistic..which is just what I need these days. So here we are world...Katydid Studio. We'll see what happens next!
